I'm back
Well, I think the online hiatus did me some good, I'm becoming more involved with the world outside my living room :) Let's see, since I last checked in I've "competed" in the Freestyle Surfabout a month ago, hiked a 5 mile round trip through a pitch black tunnel sans flashlight, bought a motorcycle (and ridden it close to 1500 miles so far - longest trip was up to a Giants game and back - thank god for longjohns), started to become involved with the Monterey chapter of the Surfrider Foundation, and, of course, surfed a lot. That's really not that much for 2 and a half months, but so what. Anyway, I'm off to Asilomar, supposedly the waves are starting to pick up.

Online Hiatus so I can concentrate on Immanentizing the Eschaton
In what will come as shocking and heartbreaking news to the millions, nay, billions of fans of this blog around the globe and into the farthest reaches of outer space, I will be going on an indefinite online hiatus, starting as soon as I finish posting this entry.
Now, I can't completely boycott the internet, not if I wish to continue receiving a paycheck...hmmm.. well, yeah, I guess I do wish to continue receiving a paycheck, so I'll still have to check my e-mail and whatnot, so if you want to reach me by e-mail, go ahead. I'll still be putting pics up on flickr, but not with the regularity that I have been up until now.
In the immortal words of Dave Allen - "Good night, thank you, and may your god go with you."

Check out Hydeus Kiatta on mperia.com
Hey Everybody, click on the following link:
Hydeus Kiatta at mperia.com
I've been scanning in a bunch of old photos and putting them up on flickr, so you should go check them out. While doing so, I came across a bunch from a camping trip to Big Sur I went on in Spring 1990 with Mr. Jeffers and some classmates at RLS. One of those people was Hydeus "Heidi" Kiatta, who I didn't really know very well, other than that she was a really good singer. While it's been 16 years, and most of the specific details have faded from memory, I do remember that she was a lot of fun to be camping with and just an all-around great person. She has a bunch of songs up on mperia.com, check them out - follow that link and you can read her bio then check out her songs. You can pre-listen to them online, and if you like them, go ahead and pony up the $1/track. It's the right thing to do, plus it'll help her on the road to recovery from cancer.

Change in Plans
So, when I woke up at 5:38 this morning (yes, there's a 5:38 in the morning), there was this eerie blue glow coming in through my window. At first I thought the mothership had finally returned to rescue me from this galactic backwater, but when I looked outside I realized it was just the western sky. Unfortunately, by the time I got up, performed some emergency ablutions, threw on some shorts, and grabbed my camera, the rising sun had managed to wash out the brilliant blue. I'll try again tomorrow morning when I get up early to try out the new surfboard I bought today with my birthday money (well, new to me anyway).
The Change in Plans in the title refers to the change in birthday bash plans, which will know be held down at Monterey Lanes and my brother's apartment for Karaoke maybe we'll go downtown wreak havoc as well). I'll be sending out an e-mail update and also post a bulletin on MySpace this weekend to let everyone know the details.

Birthday Bash at Boardwalk Bowl, April 1st
Hello Everybody! (Hello TheoBromine!)
(At Soledad High yesterday, Jesus kept trying
to record me on his cameraphone while I was
doing Groundskeeper Willie impersonations).
Anyway, I want to have a birthday party
this year at Boardwalk Bowl in SC on April 1st.
They have Karaoke at 8pm on Saturdays, so I was
thinking of meeting for bowling around 5:30 or 6,
then to Karaoke at 8, and if anyone's interested
maybe to the boardwalk either before or after.
So, just to see if anyone's actually reading this
blog, feel free to let me know if you think you
could make it by adding a comment onto the end
of this post, and let me know how many to expect
so I know how many lanes to reserve. Thanks!
No, it's not an April Fool's Day Joke!
